Who are the Mille Lacs Tea Party Patriots?
The Mille Lacs Tea Party Patriots is a true grass roots organization founded in April of 2009 and is dedicated to encouraging public policy that supports the principles of personal responsibility, individual liberty, limited constitutional government, fiscal responsibility and free markets as set forth by our Founding Fathers in the Constitution of the United States of America. There was originally three local Tea Party groups. The Milaca and Princeton Tea Party were merged in April 2009 and a group from Onamia merged with us soon after that.
We are loosely affiliated with other groups in the Tea Party movement. We do not as a group endorse any candidate for any office. We advocate for open and frank discussions on the leadership, direction and taxation in our townships, cities, counties, states and Federal government. We want our elected and appointed officials to know that we are not satisfied with the current state of affairs in our country and that we want them to know that they must uphold their oath to office and support and defend the constitution.
Because our country is a Democratic Republic and the US Constitution IS our guidebook for Freedom , Liberty and Prosperity. We demand that our leaders follow and abide by the Constitution that they have taken an oath to uphold and defend before taking office.
The Mille Lacs Tea Party Patriots meet every 3rd Thursday of the month in the Princeton Library at 7:00pm. We also have 2nd event each month with featured speakers, authors, candidate debates, topical movie presentations and town hall type meetings.
Anyone is welcome to join us for our meetings. We demand that all who attend treat others with politeness, courtesy and respect for differing opinions. We understand there are different opinions on how to return our great Republic to its great standing in the world. We welcome debate but will not tolerate fear tactics or intimidation.
